Fire crews called to "compressed fuel" blaze at Leek business

Fire crews were called to a blaze caused by "compressed fuel" at a Leek business today (Thursday, 19th August).
Crews from Leek and Longton attended the fire at an industrial unit on Macclesfield Road at around 10am this morning and extinguished the flames.
A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "Crews from Longton and Leek were called to reports of a fire at a business on Macclesfield Road, Leek shortly after 10am this morning.
"The fire, which has since been extinguished, is believed to have been caused by compressed fuel."
West Midlands Ambulance Service also attended the scene, but stood down after it was confirmed there were no patients.
A spokesperson said: "We were called by the fire service to reports of an incident at an industrial premises on the A523 at 10.07am.
"An ambulance, two paramedic officers and HART paramedics attended the scene. There were no reported patients and ambulance resources were stood down."
