The families of two men who died in a collision near Leek recently have paid tribute to them.

Police were called at 4.30pm on Monday (8 August) to the A53 Buxton Road, Leek near to the water treatment works, following reports of a two-vehicle collision.

Upon arrival, a blue Subaru Impreza and a silver Citroen Cactus were found in collision.

Jordan Patalong, aged 22, who had been driving the Subaru, was pronounced dead by paramedics at short time later.

Jordan's brother James, who was a passenger, remains critically ill in hospital following the crash.

In a statement, his family said: "We are devastated by the loss of Jordan and we miss him deeply.

"To Jordan, family was everything - he was a shining example of how to live life and treat other people.

"He was just such a good man.

"All of the family are praying for James and his recovery."

Paul Adams, aged 48, who was driving the Citroen, was also pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

Paying tribute to him, the family of Mr Adams, said: "Paul has left a huge hole in our hearts.

"He was a fun-loving and very caring person as well as a proud and devoted daddy to Oscar, aged 8.

"We are broken-hearted."
