Biddulph vs Leek Red Nose Day challenge - The results are in!
The results are in after Biddulph and Leek faced off in a friendly competition in aid of Red Nose Day last week.
In aid of Comic Relief, Biddulph Youth and Community Zone went head to head with Haregate Community Centre in Leek, to see which town can submit the most miles in one week.
Residents of the two towns were asked to walk, hop, skip or jump as many miles as they can, and then submit their miles to the community centre of whichever town they wanted to win.
The community centre which had the most miles by the end of the week would receive a prestigious "golden boot" and take home the bragging rights until next year.
The results have now been announced ... and this year's winner was Leek's very own Haregate Community Centre, but what an amazing effort from both towns!
Biddulph submitted 771 miles, but it was the Leek centre who emerged victorious with 2,441 miles.
A spokesperson for the community centre said: "What a fantastic week, we can't believe how many miles you all sent in.
"It's been absolutely amazing, and we've had almost 100 people sending them in. Well done everybody and thank you so much!"
A spokesperson for Biddulph Youth and Community Zone said: "Massive massive thank you to everyone who took part in this, nothing like healthy competition and it was great to see everyone putting the miles in.
"Leek have bragging rights this year so well done Haregate Community Centre, you lot must be fit as a fiddle after that total!
"Thanks again everyone who took part and look out for our next challenge / competition."
