An interactive map has shown the exact percentage of people that have had their first and second Covid jabs in each area of Leek.
A map on the Government website allows users to view up to date percentages of everyone aged 12 and above who has received each vaccine.
The data is broken down into each area of Leek, allowing us to see which areas of the town are most vaccinated.
The percentage of people aged 12+ vaccinated up to and including 16 December can be found in full below:
Leek Town First dose: 86.5%Second dose: 79.9%
Leek South and Cheddleton
First dose: 91.9%
Second dose: 86.2% Leek East and Upper Hulme First dose: 87.3%Second dose: 80.7%
As you can see from the stats, the most vaccinated area of Leek is Leek South and Cheddleton, with almost 92% of residents having received at least one dose. The least vaccinated area is Leek Town - but over 86% of residents have still received at least one jab in this area. The three areas of the town combined average out to 88.6% when it comes to receiving at least one jab, leaving 11.4% of the population of Leek who are still unvaccinated. Leek's population is estimated to be around 21,000 - meaning there are still around 2,400 residents who have not received any jabs. However, the town is still performing well both locally and nationally when compared to other areas. For example, there are areas of Stoke-on-Trent where less than 70% of residents have received at least one jab, and in some parts of London this figure even drops below 50%. Unfortunately there is not yet any data available on how many local residents have received their booster jabs, but this will likely be revealed in the future and we will be sure to post an update here on Nub News.Don't forget to sign up to our newsletter below to get the top 10 Leek stories of the week delivered straight to your inbox every Friday!
