Police appeal after teen hit by van in Leek

Police have appealed for information after an 18-year-old was hit by a van in Leek over the weekend.

An air ambulance attended Broad Street on Saturday afternoon, and the pedestrian was taken to Royal Stoke University Hospital in a serious condition.

Police have now said they are investigating the incident, and asked anyone who may have any information to contact them.

A Staffordshire Police spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Broad Street, Leek, shortly after 3pm on Saturday following reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a pedestrian.

"A teenage man was taken to hospital by colleagues at West Midlands Ambulance Service with serious injuries where he remains. Enquiries are ongoing."
