Leek Town FC will make their new state of the art 3G pitch available for use by the local community after an update to the club's planning application was approved.

Leek Nub News reported previously how the club had been awarded a grant of over £500,000 to install the new 3G pitch.

The club received planning permission to install the new pitch back in July 2020, but this came with the condition that the pitch could not be installed until a community use agreement had been arranged with Sport England.

This week the club submitted another application to discharge this condition, which was approved by Staffordshire Moorlands District Council - meaning a community use agreement has now been arranged.

The agreement states that the pitch will be made available for community use at the following times:

Monday - Friday: 10am - 10pm

Saturday: 10am - 1pm

Sunday: 10am - 10pm

These times are subject to the club not requiring the pitch for first team league or cup games on any day.

The pitch will be available for use by organised sports clubs, community groups and for casual use, meaning anybody can book the pitch up to seven days in advance for use on a pay-as-you-play basis, where space is available.
